We offer training on structured professional judgement guides, ranging from 1 to 2 days, related to triaging, assessing, and managing risk for diverse forms of violence risk, including self-directed violence risk. Participants learn about the nature of diverse forms of violence, general principles of violence risk assessment and management, and how to use specific structured professional judgement guides in practice. We also offer training on other assessment procedures, such as measures of psychopathy.

We offer training on special topics, ranging from 1 hour to 2 days, related to violence and other problematic behaviors. Participants learn how to carry out other relevant investigations (e.g., misconduct investigations, mental health evaluations), handle implementation issues (e.g., information sharing, risk communication, team establishment, interviewing skills), and understand other specialized issues (e.g., fear management, lethality assessment, mental health).

The Essentials of Violence Prevention and Intervention Programs Workshop focuses on knowledge and skills related to developing, implementing, operating, and evaluating comprehensive workplace violence prevention and intervention programs as outlined in international standards of practice. The Foundational Risk Assessment and Management Workshop focuses on building core skills related to triaging, assessing and managing risk for diverse forms of violence. The Advanced Violence Risk Assessment and Management Workshop focuses on developing expert skills and demonstrating competence related to case formulation, scenario planning, report writing, risk communication, expert testimony, and implementation issues.
Train-the-Trainer
We offer Train-the-Trainer programs for organizations to help their staff to deliver Protect International’s training. This includes learning about various structured professional judgement guides, such as the HCR-20 V3, SARA-V3, B-SAFER, SAM-V2, and AVRT, and then applying Protect International’s curricula and materials. The programs provide potential trainers with the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise with the structured professional judgement guides, master the content of our training programs, and deliver training with our approval and ongoing support.
