Mental Health and Violence Risk

Although serious mental health problems are a very important risk factor for future violence, many professionals are not confident recognizing and responding to symptoms of mental disorder. During this workshop you will be provided with an overview of mental disorder, diagnostic systems, and diagnostic categories; causal associations of mental disorder and personality disorder with violence risk; tools for identifying relevant symptoms of mental disorder/personality disorder; and strategies for information gathering and risk communication.
