    Dr. Stephen D. Hart is a Director and Threat Assessment Specialist at Protect International Risk and Safety Services Inc. He’s also a Professor of Psychology at Simon Fraser University in Canada and a Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Bergen in Norway. Stephen’s expertise is in clinical-forensic psychology with special interests in group, collective, self-directed violence, and the nexus between personality disorder and violence.

    Threat Assessment Specialist

    Yan is a Threat Assessment Specialist at Protect International. She received her BA (Hons.) degree in psychology and criminology at the University of Melbourne, her MA in psychology at Simon Fraser University, and is currently completing her PhD in clinical-forensic psychology at Simon Fraser University. Her work focuses on the assessment and management of violence risk in institutional and community settings, personality disorders, cross-cultural considerations, and complex mental health problems. Outside of Protect International, Yan is a staff psychologist with Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission of British Columbia, Canada. Prior to moving to Canada, she worked as a prison psychologist at the Singapore Prison Service.

Assessing and Managing Risk for Child Abuse Using the CARE-V2

This workshop is on the newest version of the Child Abuse Risk Evaluation (CARE), a structured professional judgement guideline for assessing and managing risk for child abuse. During the workshop, participants will learn about the nature of child abuse, general principles of child abuse risk assessment and management, and how to administer the Child Abuse Risk Evaluation, Version 2, (CARE-V2).


Extended Access

All professionals who register for the workshop will receive access to a recording of the workshop for 30 days following the workshop in case they are not able to attend the workshop or if they would like a refresher of the material.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation or changes to registrations must be received in writing. 90% of the registration fees received will be refunded 30 days or more before the event. 75% refund will be received within 30 days before the event.
